Mount Tamalpais in Marin County, California is a paradise for hikers. Its charming ruggedness, rolling slopes, and treeless top offer spectacular views in all directions. Here one can easily catch a glimpse of sun-drenched, hazy San Francisco and even a portion of the Golden Gate Bridge.
I could be wrong, but I think that lizard is a western fence lizard. There’s a lot of them where I live. An interesting thing about them is that there’s a protein in their blood that kills the bacteria that cause Lyme disease. Since there’s a lot of ticks in my area I like having these lizards around. 🙂
So interesting! Thanks for identifying the lizard in my photo for me! I wish we had them in our area, too, as they eat spiders, and I am not a big fan of spiders. 🙂
This gallery has the close up and the distant views, the medium ones too, and it really tells the story well.
I could not wish for a better feedback, bluebrightly! Thank you so much for it!
Yes, more lovely photos, andelieya :). Little wonder Joni Mitchell was moved to write one of her greatest songs about California ;)…
Thank you, yizhivika! Yes, I can relate completely. 🙂
Beautiful landscapes; great compositions. Wish we could have been there!
Thank you! I wish, too, that you could have been there. Maybe it will work out another time in the future.
