Photographic Journal: Waiting for the August Moon to Rise

Shem Creek Park is located in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. It is a new public park with a long board walk extending far out into the marsh to the mouth of the creek. The creek is bordered by seafood restaurants on both sides.

Shrimp boats deliver their fresh catch straight from the ocean to the restaurants. And where there are shrimp boats, there are always lots of sea birds, especially pelicans and seagulls, and dolphins.

At the end of the day, when the shrimp boats have retired for the night, the creek comes alive with after-hour activities of recreational boating, fishing, strolling along the boardwalk, and sunset watching.
