Photographic Journal: Waiting for the August Moon to Rise

At Shem Creek Park waiting for the autumn moon to rise.

Shem Creek Park is located in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. It is a new public park with a long board walk extending far out into the marsh to the mouth of the creek. The creek is bordered by seafood restaurants on both sides.

Shrimp boats deliver their fresh catch straight from the ocean to the restaurants. And where there are shrimp boats, there are always lots of sea birds, especially pelicans and seagulls, and dolphins.

At the end of the day, when the shrimp boats have retired for the night, the creek comes alive with after-hour activities of recreational boating, fishing, strolling along the boardwalk, and sunset watching.

  1. A lovely potpourri of images showing the beauty of Shem Creek. I love the warm, directional low sunlight you have used in most of the photos. Very nice.

    1. Thank you so much for your positive and valuable feedback, Otto!

Here is a little self-critique: I have come to realize that it is one thing to take good photographs. (I am working hard on that.) It is yet another thing altogether to take good, creative photos. I still have a long ways to go to achieve the latter.

andelieya values and appreciates all of your comments, critiques, thoughts, and ideas!
