No pretty berries, little flowers, floating blossoms, or ripples in the water today! Instead I saw this handsome alligator.
Even alligators don’t like to be in the water all the time. After three consecutive days of uninterrupted rain, this big fellow took a rest on a log in the swamp and dried himself off.
Sometimes we need to remove ourselves from the turmoil of life’s events, ‘crawl out of the water onto a log’, and just be.

Hmmm, I’ve just googled ‘alligators’ and ‘South Carolina’…interesting creatures…and a bit different to the wildlife we usually encounter in the English countryside… 😉
Yes, yizhivika. And that’s only the alligators. We also have poisonous snakes and some nasty spiders. 😉 The alligator in the photo was only about 20 feet away from me when I took the shot.
